Ian is an experienced Magistrates Court Advocate and a Solicitor with Higher Rights of Audience, in charge of the Serious Fraud and Criminal Defence Departments and adopts a proactive role in representing clients interests fearlessly. He has over 25 years wide-ranging experience, of the most serious cases including murder, manslaughter, rape, sexual offences and robbery and has successfully represented defendants around the country in some celebrated cases (large scale drug importation, conspiracy cases against the Police and Customs & Excise, Health and Safety Prosecutions brought by the Department of Trade and Industry and in a number of serious Fraud Office trials). He has recently successfully concluded defending in one of the longest running fraud trials when his client was acquitted after a 17 month trial. Also specialises in motoring cases including excess alcohol, careless driving and speeding.
He has also acted in cases involving Professional Footballers, Cricketers and Rugby players in relation to criminal charges. He is a regular broadcaster and lecturer on criminal law matters both on radio, television and newspapers and at seminars and conferences.
He has wide ranging experience of representing clients in relation to regulatory offences.
