Client receives suspended sentence after guilty plea

R v TW

The defendant pleaded Guilty to supply of MDMA. He had been arrested in a night club with the tablets found on his person. In mitigation it was submitted there was no evidence to support his being a dealer beyond that he had admitted to; this was a supply to friends and therefore could be treated as an exceptional case outside the Sentencing Council Guidelines. The client pleaded guilty at the first opportunity. As a consequence the client was sentenced to a suspended term of Imprisonment namely 2 years suspended for 18 months coupled with a year long Curfew Order. His mitigation was prepared by Ian Kelcey and his Counsel was Michael Hall of Albion Chambers, Bristol.
