Sentence reduced following hearing at the Court of Appeal

R v KK

The defendant had been sentenced at Bristol Crown Court by His Honour Judge Horton to a term of 5 years imprisonment. An appeal was lodged on the defendants behalf by his Solicitor, Billy Olaniyi, that the sentence was excessive.

After hearing submissions from the original trial counsel, Tabitha Macfarlane of Fosters Chambers, Bristol, the Court of Appeal agreed that the sentence was excessive and reduced the sentence to one of 4 years imprisonment and thanked Miss Macfarlane for her helpful submissions.
