Defendant acquitted of GBH

R v D (March 2024)

It was alleged that D had been involved in a verbal altercation in Bristol city centre in Summer 2021, pushing the complainant to the floor causing a broken kneecap and bruising. D maintained he was acting in self-defence at all times. After 4 hours and 35 minutes of deliberation, the jury returned a not guilty verdict and D was acquitted.
