Defendant acquitted of intentional strangulation

R v S (January 2026)

S was alleged to have strangled his ex-wife after discovering her in bed with another man. S maintained that he never strangled her and would never have hurt her.  The jury returned a unanimous not guilty verdict after 6 hours of deliberations.
