Defendant found not guilty of ABH

R v R (March 2024)

The defendant, along with another individual, was alleged to have assaulted the complainant causing ABH type injuries. The prosecution case involved several messages between the defendant and the complainant which R denied sending. After instruction of an expert to determine this, and subsequent non-appearance of R’s co-defendant at trial, the Crown offered no evidence and a not guilty verdict was entered against R.
