Successful argument for no further action to be taken against premiership rugby player

C, a premiership rugby player, was interviewed in respect of an allegation of rape following a night out in Bath. In the interview, C put forward a detailed prepared statement in which he maintained that any sexual activity that occurred was entirely consensual. At the end of the interview the police wanted to release C on bail with conditions which would have prevented him from playing overseas. After successful representations, C was released under investigation with no prohibitive conditions and was able to play rugby overseas.

Legal representative was Nick Kelcey.
